Privacy Policy — Kanbanny

Kanbanny is a local application. This policy explains, plainly, what that means for your data.

Short version

Kanbanny does not collect anything, does not send anything anywhere, has no account system, and has no analytics or crash telemetry. Everything you enter stays on your PC, in a file you control.

What Kanbanny stores, and where

Kanbanny saves your boards, columns, cards, and everything on them (notes, due dates, priority, tags, assignee, and history) to a single file — project.json — in your app data folder:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\(Kanbanny's package folder)\LocalState\project.json

Kanbanny's package folder is the one under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages whose name contains "Kanbanny". This folder is private to your Windows user account. Kanbanny writes to it automatically as you work, and only to it — the app does not write your data anywhere else on your PC and does not send it over a network.

You can also import a project file by dragging it onto the app window, and Kanbanny can quarantine (rename, never delete) a file it cannot read rather than overwriting or discarding it.

What Kanbanny does not do

• It does not create an account or ask you to sign in.
• It does not collect analytics, usage statistics, or crash reports.
• It does not connect to the internet to send or receive your board data.
• It does not use cookies, advertising identifiers, or any tracking technology.
• It does not share, sell, or transmit your data to the developer or to any third party, because it never leaves your device in the first place.

What happens when you uninstall

Uninstalling Kanbanny through Windows removes the app and, per standard Microsoft Store app behavior, removes its app data folder — including project.json — along with it. If you want to keep a copy of your data, copy project.json out of the app data folder above before you uninstall.

The Microsoft Store

Kanbanny is distributed and licensed through the Microsoft Store. Purchase processing and licence checks (confirming you own a copy of the app) are handled by Microsoft, not by the developer, and are covered by Microsoft's own privacy statement:

Kanbanny reads a licence status from the Store but this policy does not extend to Microsoft's handling of your purchase or account data — see the link above for that.

Children's privacy

Kanbanny does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated and the new version will be published at the same address:
